I absolutely love the public transportation system in Medellín. I used the public transportation in Chicago during my college and early teaching years. I rode the bus, the "L," and the Metra train. It cannot be compared to Medellín's metro train, tranvía (street cars), cable cars, and bus systems. Every one of them is absolutely safe, clean, and cheap!
I was told by a local mom about "Ludotecas." Simply put, it is a place for kids to play. It is run by the local government, and it was free of charge. It invites children to develop physically and emotionally through organized activities, and also free play. We spent a few hours playing the giant chutes and ladders, and watching the kids dancing on stage.
