Vacation Learning: Rocks: Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore #3

The kids became Pictured Rocks Junior Rangers while we visited Munising Falls.  We love the programs the National Park Service offers for kids and adults alike.  We were lucky to meet these wonderful park rangers that encouraged the kids to keep on exploring, and enjoying nature.  The guy in the middle came to our campsite and gave everyone a fabulous night talk about crows and ravens.  Since then, the kids and I have a deeper appreciation for those birds. Above, the kids were repeating the oath to conserve, and protect our natural resources.

Alger Falls located right next to M-28 road.

Wagner Falls

Horseshoe Falls

This area is a dream for those who love waterfalls and have small children.  Most of the waterfalls have easy short distance access.  The waterfalls are the result of water running over  a shelf or cliff of sandstone.  We were lucky to visit 8 waterfalls. We have a few more to check out on our next visit.
