Road Trip to Canada: Last thoughts

Map of our Road Trip.

We are back home. I am a bit sad our trip is over.  We had a lot of adventures, visited beautiful places, and most importantly enjoyed the wonderful company of old and new friends.
What else can I say?  We will go back in a heartbeat!

  1. Thanks for sharing your website on tripadvisor with me! We are traveling along Lake Huron towards Detroit as well. Was there anything worth stopping to see or do there along the way? Thanks again.

  2. TONS to do. We stopped at Sauble waterfalls, Sauble beach, MacGregor Point (we even stay there overnight. it was wonderful!), and Inverhuron Provincial park. Be prepared with sunscream and sand toys. Which way will you be entering the USA to get to Detroit? We enter Canada thru the tunnel in Windsor, and exited through the bridge by Sarnia. I preferred the Windsor route just because they had many rest stops on the 401 highway while 402 doesn't have any. Happy planning, and let me know if you need any more info. I LOVED Ontario. It is beautiful with so much to offer.

  3. Thanks! We'll be going from Sauble Beach to Sarnia (we have friends just north of Detroit we are staying with). We planned to take Rte 21 along Lake Huron on our way to Detroit...hoping it would be a little scenic or there could be fun stops along the way (beaches, etc). I've drove 401 many times between Buffalo and the midwest. I agree it's not too bad (and a much better drive than going on I-80 through Ohio! Thanks again...if I think of any other questions I will be sure to contact you!

  4. I loved sharing your trip - thank you again! I hope you're basking in a well-deserved sense of satisfaction now. We've spent this week Greek island-hopping, which has been as delightful as it sounds!

    1. Lucinda,
Please share!!! I would love to read about your Greek island-hopping!!! (please lots of pictures!!!)
I am having a hard time posting new things on the blog just because I love looking at the post from our road trip. I am making an album with Shutterfly (free 8X8 book at the moment: code SUNNYBOOK). As soon as I finish with it, I will be back to post about our daily life. It is a bit slow to adjust after being gone. How are the transitions for you and your kids?
