We had the opportunity to visit the DuPage Children's Museum in Naperville again. We planned to meet another homeschooling family, and use the vouchers the kids got from the summer reading program. The museum was closed for cleaning and re-organizing after the summer months giving us a chance to experience a cleaner, quieter museum!
We started our day with breakfast at the park, and time to play. Big girl is on top of the rocks, little guy is trying out the monkey bars. We stop at this park every time we go to Naperville. It helps my daughter with her car sickness, and they love to play there.
The museum had an special exhibit: Insect zoo. It was offered by a pest control business. The little guy and I like this one: GiantVinegaroom. It is an arachnid related to scorpions. It releases vinegar as a defense mechanism (hence the name). It is found in the South East and South Central parts of the USA.
Wood workshop. Hammering bottle caps.
Building a fort with their friends.
On our way back home, we had to stop again at the park. The weather was just gorgeous!
Our neighbor's kids came to visit. One stay to paint with the kids. They painted a shark, a sea horse and an octopus.
